FRANKFURT, MARCH 19 - Deutsche Boerse AG (DB1Gn.DE) will sue the European Commission over its decision to block the planned $9 billion merger between the Boerse and NYSE Euronext (NYX.N), Deutsche Boerse said on Monday.

The EU executive cited antitrust reasons for its February 1 decision to block the merger.

"Deutsche Boerse is of the view that several aspects of the decision are incorrect," the operator of the Frankfurt stock exchange said in a statement. It said it would bring the suit before the European court in Luxembourg.
